While the coronavirus crisis has disrupted just about everybody’s lives for the past six months, it seems as if there is finally light at the end of the tunnel.
Some schools are reopening, at least partially. Businesses are inviting employees to come back to the office. And people everywhere are beginning to return to shopping malls, parks, museums, and other public spaces where they interact with other people — cautiously.
As life begins to return to normal, it’s time to do something we’ve been unable to do since the crisis began: Make plans for the future.
A Return to Normalcy
As the old saying goes, “You never miss your water till your well runs dry.” In the same way, before the crisis began none of us could imagine how much we would miss the everyday things we took for granted, such as field trips, away games, and cruises. But once COVID-19 came into the picture, all of those things and more went out the window.
Until now, that is. Today, as the crisis begins to wane people’s thoughts naturally move to how they are going to resume their normal lives. And the best way to do that today is to start making plans for tomorrow.
While school field trips may not be practical right now, they probably will be by the spring semester. Similarly, high school and college sports teams may not be playing or are playing a limited scheduled right now. But by next year, they probably will resume their normal schedule.

As the past six months have shown us, things like getting out with your friends for a shopping trip or a day trip to a museum or tourist attraction matter. We all miss spending time with family and friends. But now we can do something about it.
